Tasha Cobbs congratulates August Alsina on his album “This Thing Called Life”

Tasha Cobbs and August Alsina

It feels sad how religion tends to separate us despite the claim that we are one people and must not hesitate to celebrate the success of one another.

Grammy nominated Gospel artist Natasha Tameika popularly known as Tasha Cobbs just broke what has been termed a ‘religious boundary’ by celebrating hiphop artist August Alsina and his second album “This Thing Called Life”.

In a short but though provoking post, the artist who had earlier contemplated on making the post because of religion and the judgement that comes with it stated she was so proud of August Alsina and how far he has come. She also reminded him (August Alsina) of her promise to always pray for and cover him.

“Today I want to celebrate my friend @augustalsina!!! Just tbh I was torn about this post bc of religion and the judgement that comes along with it. But then I thought, for the past few years how our friendship has grown into such a God thing. I’m sooooo proud of how you’ve grown and the hard work you put in… Against all odds!!! As I’ve promised you from day one, I’M ALWAYS PRAYING FOR AND COVERING YOU!!! That’s my assignment to your life and I won’t stop!! You’re like a little brother to me and I can’t wait to see how God will use your life to impact the world!!! Keep watching folks!!! #ThisThingCalledLife #NumberOneYo … Let’s talk about this picture situation tho! We gotta do better!  love you!

Amazingly, most of the comments on the post so far have been very positive with a lot of her fans inspired and motivated to draw in those are perceived to be lost.

Lester Jenkins posted,

“Your reason for contemplating posting this is what I hate about religion and your decision to post it is what I love about it. Much love and respect to you. I am in love with your voice btw lol… Blessings to you.”

That’s how Christianity is all supposed to be about, innit?

Days ago, August Alsina released his 15 track album This Thing Called Life (which as of the time of publication) was sitting comfortably at the number spot of released albums.
