It’s here again! The 2015-16 Ghana Premier League is all but set to take us on another jolly good ride of unadulterated local soccer action. It may have taken quite a while, but it’s certainly worth the wait. As the new season readies to take off on Saturday, barring any eleventh hour hitches, you apparently can’t help but get caught up in the excitement.
The delay may have unarguably shaken the patience out of many – quite undeniably – but it certainly did have its fair share of positives. Teams have had more than enough time at pre-season to trim their rough edges, journalists having also been afforded ample space to familiarize with names of players in for a first shot.
James Mensah of YFM-Kumasi and Afia Ampong Acheampong of Kapital Radio have not been left out, and are together set to roll out a season-long podcast on various issues on the coming topflight – starting on February 19. Captioned “The Ghana Premier League Podcast”, the broadcast sees the duo preview and review match days, introspect into stories behind the big headlines, provide top five stats from match days and capped off with a power prediction segment. This is to serve as a teaser ahead of games as well as a reference point for stories behind the major talking points.
Each episode of the podcast – a razor-sharp 15 minutes of exquisite analysis and information – will be uploaded at least 24 hours before any match day via the audio blog “Podomatic/Sound Cloud”, with social media links shared on Facebook and Twitter.
For James and Afia, the Ghana Premier League Podcast complements their media objectives of promoting the topflight whiles reliving the passion for the local game.
Be sure not to miss out on any episode, as the new season promises a blockbuster of thrilling soccer action. Your comments and contributions to any podcast will be appreciated via the hashtag, #GHPLPodcast (Twitter and Facebook).
