Award-winning American filmmaker and actor Shelton Jackson “Spike” Lee has arrived in Ghana.
The actor who recently turned 66 years arrived in the West African country on Sunday, March 26, 2023, as part of the Beyond The Return initiatives instituted by the Ghana Tourism Authority.
He was received on arrival by the CEO of the Authority (GTA), Akwasi Agyemeng and the Director of Beyond The Return secretariat, Annabelle Renee.
Speaking on his arrival, Annabelle Renee said;
“The last time we met, I told him I was about to move to Ghana. That was in 2018. Now he’s here in Ghana, and I got to welcome him at the airport,” she said. “This really is amazing, and I continue to be happy that more African Americans are making the trip to connect with Ghana.”
It is immediately unknown what the filmmaker will be engaged in on his visit.
Spike Lee’s visit coincides with the Vice President of America, Kamala Harris who also arrived in the country on Sunday, March 26, 2023.
