If you ever believe in prayers, do say one for popular British-Ghanaian radio DJ and media personality Simon Boateng well known as DJ Abrantee as exclusive information obtained by us at Ghana’s Hub For Pup Culture And Urban Entertainment www.nydjlive.com suggests he’s had quite a difficult time battling with stroke.
According to our informant, the host of popular #AfrobeatsWithAbrantee SHOW on Capital Xtra in the UK has had to stay off radio and the public space just to recuperate.
Although friends and colleagues were tight-lipped earlier, we are reliably informed that DJ Abrantee is doing well and is in good spirit at the moment.
There is a GoFund Me account aimed at raising some monies to help in the healthcare of one of the very instrumental figures in the promotion of Afrobeats in the United Kingdom.

On November 4 2017, editor of Ghana Celebrities in a post on Facebook asked for prayers for DJ Abrantee.
He would however not reveal why.
Radio Career
DJ Abrantee, started his radio career in 2005 working the night shift at Choice FM and filling in for absentees whilst continuing his work as a DJ on the club circuit. The following year, Boateng was asked to present Saturday’s Choice, a show that aired once a month on a Saturday.
In 2007, the success of Saturday’s Choice led to a permanent position at Choice FM to host the new Morning Riser show between 3:00 am and 6:00 am from Monday to Friday. He then moved to another time slot in March 2010 to present the station’s weekday evening show from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am.
The evening show consisted of tracks from Choice FM’s playlist but also included interviews with high-profile artists: Diddy, Usher, Drake, Dizzee Rascal, Kelly Rowland, Big Boi, Labrinth, Kelis, Taio Cruz, Flo Rida, Travie McCoy, Tinchy Stryder, Jeremih, Loick Essien, Jason Derulo amongst others.
In April 2011, Choice FM announced that DJ Abrantee would become the new presenter of its drivetime show between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm from Monday to Friday (later Friday edition was dropped). It also announced that Abrantee would start hosting a new program entirely dedicated to Afrobeats from 12:00 am to 2:00 am every Saturday, then followed by 10:00 pm to 12:00 am in about 2013.
The new show called Afrobeats with Abrantee was launched on 16 April 2011 and was one of the most tweeted about topic on Twitter that day which resulted in Choice FM trending for the first time on the social networking service. Abrantee is currently on the air during Afrobeats with Abrantee show between 11:00 pm and 1:00 am every Saturday on Capital XTRA.
Before 11 September 2017, he also presented Capital XTRA’s drivetime show, Monday – Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
This timeslot, after this day, was given to Mike Panteli, who already had his own slot every Friday from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am.
At this moment our prayers are with DJ Abrantee and his family and we endear all fans, friends and loved ones to remember them in prayer as they go through this turbulent time. #Pray4Abrantee.
