Dr. Yao Nfodjoh, a criminal psychologist who examined and diagnosed Miss Ada, Takoradi based radio presenter at the centre of the alleged staged rape saga with bipolar disorder has urged the police to drop all charges against her since she may have acted the way she did based on her mental condition.

Miss Ada caused a national outrage when photos of her alleged rape went viral. It was later revealed by the police that she staged the act.  According to the police, she had been arrested on a number of occasions for similar acts in Takoradi.

After spending weeks at the Police hospital, she was referred to a clinical psychologist. Dr. Nfodjoh at a press conference flanged by Miss Ada said, Ada in the past has been suicidal and depressed.

“There was a preponderance of a mood problem with Ada.” Dr. Nfodjoh said.

It is unclear if the police will continue with the criminal investigations against Ada after this report, but Dr. Nfodjoh said in a report to the Attorney general “we recommended that the police discontinue whatever criminal charges” against her.
