Orange FM 107.9 MHz a Kumasi based urban clutter-free music station has been in operation since July 2018. Orange FM transmits from the Kumasi City Mall, shop number 38, Asokwa.
This developing and energetic brand is now three (3) years old. Celebrations began with a virtual launch of the anniversary on July 2, 2021, where the #Orange3InColour was unveiled.
In the subsequent week, there was a tweak in operations. The studio was graced with guest hosts for various shows.
Notable amongst them was Dr Paa Kwesi Baidoo. The doctor steered the Orange Sunrise from 5:45 am to 10 am in the place of Alfa-Ali, the regular host.
Orange Overdrive also saw a different voice behind the console. Kojo-Cue nicely, swiftly and safely drove listeners home with the Orange Overdrive on July 7, 2021.
The Orange Urban Mix, on the other hand, had its piece of the cake too. Ike Frimpong lost his title ‘The Microphone man’ to Tony Boateng. Assisted by Godfred Kwarteng and Salomey Darko Bruku, a team from MTN Ghana.
The Orange Birthday party continued on Friday, July 10, 2021, with the Sunrise to Sundown show. A show that featured ace DJs like DJ Fish and DJ Andy Kirm on the turntables. Kwaw Kese also passed through with the ‘Abodam’ fire.
The party continued later in the day with a soiree where Orange FM 107.9 MHz reintroduced itself to Kumasi. In attendance were corporate entities such as Access Bank, CBG, Stanbic, MTN, etc. The likes of Asaase 98.5, Y 102.5 Ultimate 106.9, Akoma 87.9 were also there to show their support.
Representatives from the various organizations each shared their goodwill messages. And wished the Orange brand the best of luck in the coming years.
The celebration was taken to the Brunei Sports complex after the Soiree at KCM. Four (4) teams competed for the bragging right on the pitch, the host Orange FM, Y FM, Zenith Bank and Bonak.
At the end of the four rounds of matches, Zenith triumphed. They beat Bonak Temple in the finale by four goals to two (4-2).
The #Orange3InColour celebrations climaxed with a Thanksgiving Service at the Calvary Charismatic Centre(CCC), Ayigya.
Orange FM 107.9 MHz is a subsidiary of the Focus 1 media group. The group comprise Pluzz 89.9mhz, Spice 81.9mhz, Ofie 105.9mhz and Beach 105.5mhz.
