Ahead of the official commencement of the 5 day MultiChoice Africa Content Showcase Extravaganza being held on the beautiful island of Mauritius, the delegation from Ghana which includes journalists and officials from MultiChoice Ghana were treated to great sight attractions on the island.
Starting from the plush Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort, (where the entire delegation is based) the team led by Sousette (our tour guide) went through to the the Lord Shiva Temple where a majority of tourists visit to pay homage to their deity due to the large Hindu population in Mauritius.
From there, the delegation chauffered through the beautiful sugarcane plantations of the land to the highest peak of Mauritius which plays host to two the black and white monkeys. It remains quite a beautiful scenery especially as the top of the mountains oversee two towering waterfalls. This is approximately 828 metres high.
The journey then continued to Rhumerie de CHAMAREL where the team was taken through the various processes of making the best Rum which is highly exported out of the country (of course, we had our own share of rum). We also had to take a rest to enjoy some lunch which although incomparable to our Ghanaian dishes, tasted good. (You know Ghanaians are just obsessed with out typical Banku, Tilapia etc. Mind you, some of my colleagues brought shito, lol)
The delegation then continued to the 7 Coloured Earth after which it was finally transported to it’s hostel for a short rest ahead of the MultiChoice Africa Welcome Dinner where BET Award winner Stonebwoy and other artists from Nigeria including Flavour, Don Jazzy, D’Prince are expected to perform.
