Omah Lay And Tems Remanded By Ugandan Police Till Wednesday

Nigerian musicians Stanley Omah Didia alias Omah Lay, Temilade Openyi alias Tems, Muyiwa Awomiyi and four Ugandans have been remanded by the Ugandan Police.

This comes about after the individuals “were charged to court in Makindye on charges of Negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act,” the Ugandan Police said.

The decision has been unfavourable to many Nigerians who have since taken to social media to demand their release.

Although initial plans suggested they could be released on police bond, the Ugandan Police in a statement said they “were suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP. ”

The musicians including the accomplices have since been “remanded till Wednesday 16.12.2020”

On the night of December 12, 2020, Omah Lay and Tems performed at The Big Brunch, held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Rd, Kampala, Uganda which triggered their arrest the following day.

The individuals earlier made an appearance court.
