Obofour Raphael Secures Clearance From Craig David For New Single “Yesu”

In a fast-growing music world where creatives often jump on productions without conducting thorough background checks and seeking clearance where necessary, Ghanaian hiplife musician Obofour Raphael is setting the standard.

Known for his deep appreciation and preservation of hiplife music, Obofour Raphael has received official clearance from British R&B star Craig David for his latest single, “Yesu”.

The track “Yesu“, which features veteran producer Morris Babyface, creatively interpolates elements of Craig David’s 2000 hit “Booty Man”.

The move marks a significant milestone in Obofour Raphael’s career, signalling a bold blend of international influence and artistic expression.

Speaking on the process, Obofour expressed his appreciation to legendary Ghanaian guitarist and long-time friend of Craig David, Kwame Yeboah, music producer Morris Baby Face, Warner Chappell Music, a division of Warner Music Group, and Round Hill Music Publishing.

“When the song came out, it was obvious that it was an interpolation, so I had to do the right thing by contacting Craig David’s team, and the person who made it all happen was Kwame Yeboah. We got the song cleared, and here we are,” he said.
