Award winning Ghanaian rapper and songwriter M.anifest believes his 14 track album No Where Cool released on September 8 2016 is on track to achieving its full potential.
The rapper who seems to have generated the biggest conversation bothering on rap, language and several others in Ghana for the year 2016 in a yet to be released edition of Behind The Move with NY DJ.
“I think the lifespan of an album for it to achieve its purpose or goals or its potentials is actually way longer than No Where Cool is been out. Probably take a full year, has to be putting out videos, touring with the music for it to properly reach its full potentials but it’s on track in terms of reception.”
Although he admits there is a lot of work to be done, he is also grateful and full of praise for the Manifans (fans of M.anifest) for accepting the new approach he took in making hard copies of the album available for patronizing it.
“At least locally, there ain’t any strong infrastructure so we tried that new thing where for once we partnered with a company to be able to let people order it with mobile money because that’s something they use and then do free delivery on top of it and people proved that when they actually love something, they are willing to support and they did. They tried the new way.
They had never bought music that way but they tried it and it’s also a testament to what they believed the music was going to be and their expectation so definitely we think that was step in the right direction.
There’s a still a lot of work to be done and we are actually more excited about what we are willing to do visually and the performances because I think this album will open the world the more to us in terms of performance but chale, the support is much appreciated.
They’ve shown that if we put enough effort and innovation into trying to build distribution infrastructure it might be actually worth it because they will actually support it.”
