If you recall in last my post before the Ghana nydjlive,
USA game last night, I told you the Americans were coming into this game as a mission of no return and so all efforts to win and that was exactly what they did.
Securing the first goal at a very early state when none of the teams had even settled into the game, the Americans scored the fastest goal in the World Cup final this year in exactly 32 seconds.
Although the goal came in early, the Blackstars took the game to the Americans, possessing all the ball and wouldn’t make good use of all their chances until the closing stages of the second half.
After an equalizer by Dede Ayew in the very final minutes of the second half, Ghana erupted as everyone thought we could still take the chances but nope, a corner would make the Americans secure the maximum 3 points.
It is always said that once bitten, twice shy. Congrats to the Americans for redeeming themselves but just as my colleague blogger from Nigeria, Gossip Girlie would say, Ghana lost honourably.
However, it was disheartening as our very own coach Akwasi Appiah made very terrible mistakes with his selection. How could he just play Kojo Asamoah in that position? Why start Jordan Ayew? Could he not substitute John Boye?
I think a lot of questions would be asked but hmm, we wait for the next Ghana which I believe would be more disastrous if we are not careful.
