Ghanaian music star Mensa Ansa is a proud recipient of the PRS Foundation Grant For Music Creators.
Mensa Ansa makes a list of 20 musicians who received the grant which aims to support the creation, performance and promotion of outstanding new music, taking in great consideration not only its quality but also its power to inspire the audience worldwide.
The awarded project aspires to give new meaning to collaborations and spark important conversations that will develop throughout the next few months and lead to the release of Mensa’s album “ Bondzie-Speak Up.”
Under these circumstances, Mensa has conceived Bondzie – Speak Up “A Live,” ( a live performance + a documentary ), a natural follow up to the movement he started earlier on this year, with the objective of making his personal journey a collective expression.
This work will expand the meaning of tracks recorded over the past two years, re-interpreting the music honouring his Ghanaian heritage and Black musicians from the past to the present, and celebrating music as one of the greatest Healing Powers.
