On Saturday May 3 2014, the entire fashion world was taken by shock when I broke the news of the death of celebrated Ghanaian fashion icon Kofi Ansah in what family members confirm as a cardiac arrest. 
His death has led to glowing tributes from many across the world but the one that caught my attention was one from Ghanaian musician M3nsa Ansah, a nephew to the deceased who shared his tribute on Facebook. Check out what he posted.
“Oh uncle Kofi. Every time our family achieved something in our creative careers you’d be the first person I think about. And I’d say “that uncle Kofi better be proud of us! We’re doing it!” We could only strive to be half the hero, and dedicated man you were.
Or even dream to be half the inspiration you have been to our generation. A father to all your siblings’ children and a closer friend even. I loved you, and I admired your intelligence and ability to have an incredible insight on any and everything.
When I’m able to stop crying and pick myself up I’ll go ahead and make you even prouder of me. Rest in absolute peace, and I’ll see you soon Kofi Sasraku Ansah.”
