An Accra Human Rights court has granted popular broadcaster, Kwesi Kyei Darkwa (KKD) bail.
He was granted bail on humanitarian grounds, citing his health as one of the reasons.
Justice Kofi Essel Mensah who sat on the case granted the renowned media personality bail of sum GHC20,00 with two sureties.KKD who has been charged with rape has denied it arguing he had “consensual sex” with the alleged victim.He and his lawyers further resorted to the Human rights courts to seek for bail after the Magistrate court denied him same.
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old girl who accused KKD of rape has withdrawn the charges.
KKD has also issued a statement to apologize for his conduct.
