Ghanaian hi-life sensation, Dada Hafco, has spilt out an irrational mindset some Ghanaians have with regards to the hi-life genre and musicians related to it.
Dada Hafco revealed that some Ghanaians call him a villager and even think he can’t speak English because he’s into hi-life.
Asked if are well appreciated by Ghanaians, Dada Hafco responded in the negative saying;
“I don’t think they do. They don’t. They even see us as villagers. Yes, there are several times people call me a villager. They even come at me on social media. Some Ghanaians have some ill mindset when it comes to the hilife genre and it’s funny. They’ve always seen hi-life artists as villagers even the veterans. But that’s our original sound and the earlier we embraced it, the better for us”, he answered
Dada Hafco also revealed that people get surprised when they hear him speak English because they believe that hi-life musicians can’t speak English. The “Puu Puu” singer, raised concerns about the stigma they face as hi-life artists.
Dada Hafco advised that Ghanaians get educated on issues of such nature as he believes we are way behind and that’s bad news for us.
Dada Hafco made these revelations in an interview with Nana Ama Shancy on Spice 91.9FM.
