Waking up to the good news of being crowned the most beautiful woman in 2014 by People Magazine made me feel proud of her at a point but after a minute, one thing kept running through my mind. Is Lupita Nyong’o really the most beautiful woman in 2014?
Well, I have every right to think of what I want to but would it change anything? Of course not, especially when a group of well recognised business minded people who want to sell their magazine would cash in on her and name her the most beautiful woman of 2014 since the world is after her . I don’t know the benefits she stands to enjoy though. Maybe a lot of endorsements would come her way with just the title unlike in Ghana where you make nothing even out of image rights, lol.
It also came to me as no suprise when almighty TV host Oprah Winfrey invited her and her family over. You know why, perhaps she really loves her but it could also be for the ratings since that counts a lot for most of the TV shows.
By these two points, I wish to state that the West would jump at anything that would ‘make’ them rather than profit you especially if you have that colour of mine.
It is an indisputable fact that after gracefully picking up an Academy Award for best supporting actress for her role as the slave Patsey in director Steve McQueen’s acclaimed film “12 Years A Slave”, all red carpets have been about her and most TV shows would want to have her as a guest but the question is, when did the world realise there was a certain Lupita Nyong’o to be named the most beautiful woman in 2014?
Yes, Lupita is beautiful and proud of her dark complexion which she graceful admits and admonishes all dark women around the world to be proud of but the question that remains to be answered is, Is Lupita Nyong’o Really the most beautiful woman in 2014?
Many have said that her beauty goes beyond just what the eys could see and that her humility and other factors counted. Cool!!
