“I Will Be A Voice For The Creative Space; Hold Me Accountable” – Samira Bawumia

The wife of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, Samira Bawumia, has called on players and practitioners in the Creative Arts and Tourism industries in the Ashanti Region to vote for her husband as president as the December 7, 2024, general election approaches.

Speaking at an event dubbed “Samira Bawumia Engages Creatives” on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Longford Event Center in Kumasi, Samira Bawumia reiterated the NPP’s promises to make the Arts, Tourism & Culture industries a vibrant and effective one.

She also promised to be a voice for the Creative Arts space and ensure whatever is due to the industry is granted.

“Because of my passion as well, I will be a voice for the creative space. I’ll make sure whatever is due you are granted. If you observe my interaction with creatives over the past 8 years, you will realize I’m passionate about you and not just because my husband is seeking to be a president.

The creative arts is something I’ve always been passionate about so I will be an advocate for the creatives. I will support you. I will be your voice and I will make sure that your concerns are factored into the nation’s development and that these commitments are seen through. Hold me accountable…,” she said.

Present at the event were industry professionals drawn from the media, music, film, tourism and other sectors.
