First Ghanaian BET Award nominee Kojo Antwi popularly known as “Mr Music man” has expressed how limited he feels whenever his music is classified high life.
The music man who disclosed this in an interview with NY DJ on Kapital Radio’s drive time show Homestretch said,
“I never classify my music as high life even though I sing in Twi, my music is not high life. My music is Afro pop. You know I hate to be labelled. I believe God blessed me with a talent and that talent is to play music, good music and not to play one particular type of music. I’m blessed to be born in Africa where different rhythms are produced so I cannot describe myself as a high life artist….. ”
He disclosed this when the host asked if fans could expect contemporary high life music on his next album which he delayed releasing last year due to the presidential elections in Ghana. The thirteen (13) track album as he says would be released as soon as possible
Kojo Antwi is set to stage a special Valentine’s Day concert in Kumasi on the 14th of February 2013.
