One of Ghana’s finest singers and former Western Region representative to TV3’s musical competition Mentor 2 Victoria Adedzewaa Stokes popularly known as Adez whose seems to have been on the low with her music career believes she needs not feature a well-known or established Ghanaian to make it big on the music scene.
In a lengthy chat with NY DJ, the songstress revealed life has not been so easy after her experience with Mentor 2 although she strives to churn out great songs which has earned her a strong following in Beijing where she has been performing a couple of times.
Answering questions as to how she has still not made it in big in Ghana considering the talent she has to compete any of the known faces, Adez explained she was still finding her way through and believes it would not last long to make it big.
Speaking on possible collaborations, the artist stated she does not fancy featuring already known artists to break out in the music industry.
“Funny enough I don’t want to feature already known artists. This is because people have them already and the world needs new voices…….. One thing is, if I feature a big artist and the song becomes a hit, when I’m going on shows, people will expect to see these stars with you and their absence would have an effect on my music……….”
Speaking on future plans, Adez disclosed plans were far advanced for her debut album. She asked her fans to watch out for two brand new singles in December.
Adez prior to her musical hiatus released a classical piece titled “Budiin” which featured Stonebwoy. She has enormous experience and skill and backed other music greats like Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi, Hugh Masakela, Ofori Amponsah, Samini, VIP and Kwabena Kwabena.
