Although many assert that his venture into Ministry is a fluke and would not stand the test of time just like musician Ofori Amponsah, Ghanaian actor Majid Michel is not perturbed and knows which path he has taken.
The Passion of Christ actor who has been up to a lot lately spreading the word of God on different occasions in a recent interview with Bola Ray revealed that unlike many think, he has a vision and would stick to it regardless.
He explained he heard about and knew Jesus for a long time but was following the demands of the flesh until he paid attention to learning the Bible.
Growing his faith and knowing more about the Bible, Majid Michel took his wife (Virna Michel) as his first student teaching her the Bible as he believes his home was the best place to start from.
“I think the calling was always there… I knew Jesus for a very long time but I guess I was just following the flesh for a very long time which most of us do because I made the flesh the master instead of the Spirit. But it’s supposed to be the Spirit as the master and the calling was always there, I just heeded to it because I didn’t want any rough. It all started approximately not actively five years ago when Timothy Bentum started something called the APPNC, where we bring together actors, professionals, Presenters and musicians for Christ. That was were I got the platform to talk to tens of thousand of people about Christ.
“That was where I got to share things I discovered in the Bible, things I never found out when growing up, things the church never told me, things I never heard from any of my pastors,” Majid said.
Majid Michel has since proclaiming his love for the gospel has been seen preaching on several occasions with a recent appearance at the Kasoa For Christ Crusade at the Galilea Park in Ghana.
With a great passion for acting, Majid Michel went to school to learn about it after he failed his first audition. He later joined the modeling agency, Super Model Agency, on the behest of his next-door neighbour.
Till date, Majid Michel has acted in several movies including Agony of the Christ, which received seven nominations at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2009.
Majid reveals his most challenging movie was somewhere in Africa where he had to play two different roles.
