I Consider The Breakup of A Marriage One Of My Biggest Failures – Prof. Elsie Effah Kaufmann

Academic administrator, Biomedical Engineer, and current host of the National Science and Maths Quiz, Prof. Elsie Effah Kaufmann, has revealed the breakup of her marriage is one of her biggest failures in life.

Despite being a very successful academician, the Quiz Mistress in an interview monitored by Nydjlive revealed she used to be bothered by the breakup but not any longer.

Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chart, the mother of three said;

“When you get married, you’re expected to stay in it for life right? So I consider the breakup of a marriage one of my biggest failures in life because I went in there for life and life happened.”

Asked if she still thinks about it, she replied saying;

“At the time it was happening, I did think about it but now I’m well over it. Life must go on. Initially, it was difficult.”

Asked to advise young women who could be going through a similar phase in their marriages, Prof. Elsie Effah Kaufmann said;

“First of all, you need to make wise choices and understand what you are getting yourself into before you even get in there so know that human beings are not static so if you get married based on what you see at that time, note that you’re going to be growing. The person may or may not grow so find somebody you can grow with.”

In 2020, Professor Elsie Kaufmann was appointed an associate professor at the University of Ghana and was later appointed the Dean of the School of Engineering Sciences on 1 August 2022.
