Unlike many Ghanaian artists who look forward to glorious days of being nominated and winning international awards aside the ones they pick from local award organizers, female Afropop artist, Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong known widely in showbiz circus as Becca has a different opinion.
The artist says she feels good with the awards she’s picked so far at the Ghana Music Awards over the past few years.
Becca who appeared on “Hanging Out with KOD”, a weekly TV programme explained she held an opinion it was more important to be recognized and appreciated at home than on a foreign soil.
She’s quoted as saying;
“I don’t cherish any award apart from GMA, forget KORA and all the other awards that I’ve won. In my opinion, it is more important to be known and appreciate in your own country rather than elsewhere and for me, I will continue to cherish my GMA awards”.
The artist also made time to talk about speculations of an ongoing relationship with her manager Kiki Banson and stated the only relationship that existed between them were that of an artist and manager relationship. She however added that she had the right to date anyone she felt attracted to.
Becca, since her debut in 2008 has been nominated and won several awards both local and international.
