Contrary to early reports that stated that the Government of Ghana has added 7 ambassadors from the Akan movie production sect to its list of 15 already unveiled ambassadors to represent Ghana at the upcoming world cup to be hosted in Brazil from the 12th of June 2014, a producer from Kumasi who led the group in securing the sponsorship deal has debunked the publications stating the government was not fully funding their trip to Brazil but only making provisions for their tickets.
In an interview with www.nydjlive.com, Jones Agyemang, CEO of J.A Films who led the group for the deal explained the government of Ghana had only promised to make available 7 tickets for the group which included actors, actresses and two producers and therefore there was no truth in publications that suggested that they were 9 in number
“The Government is only funding the tickets for the 7 of us. All other bills including accommodation, feeding and tickets to watch the games are also being taken care of by a non-governmental organization known as Sports Education and Management.
It is therefore worrying that I woke up to see publications that government is funding the travel, feeding and accommodation of seven Kumawood actors and two movie producers to Brail as part of Ghana’s world cup contingent and ambassadors.”
