Ghanaweb, Adom FM, Daily Guide, others cited for Ethical Violations in MFWA Report

ethical journalism

As part of getting things done the right way with regards to media ethics and practices, the  Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) has released its May 2014 report after monitoring a selected number of media platforms and prominent among these media houses with ethical violations are Ghanaweb.com, Daily Guide and Accra based radio station Adom FM.

The report according to MFWA was based on monitoring a “media ethics monitoring instrument focusing on 16 ethical principles of journalism was developed. To a large extent, the Code of Ethics of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) served as the benchmark of the instrument. The instrument was subsequently presented at a stakeholders’ forum for validation.”

Reading through the detailed report, it is made known that one major problem was lack of diversity as there was duplication of content on a lot of media platforms.
