As if not coming close to the top 15 at the finale of the 2014 edition of the Miss Universe pageant held at the FIU Arena at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, USA was pain enough, Ghana’s representative at the event, Abena Appiah has come under immense criticism on social media since Sunday over a dress she wore as Cultural Attire on the night.
Although clad in a beautiful long gown with a bit of Kente (which is known to represent Ghana) and a red, yellow and green wrist band which brightly represented Ghana’s colours, many believe Abena did not represent her country well enough in that regard.
According to some commentators on social media, the Ghanaian who was hopeful of annexing the ultimate looked no different in her costume when compared to the South African contestant.

Abena Appiah won Miss Talent Ghana in 2012 and won Top Model Ghana in 2013, she also represented Ghana in the Top Model Of The World pageant held in Egypt. Abena is an entertainer and loves to be entertained. She has been modeling since age 3 and discovered her music abilities at the age of 9.
She is currently a fashion student at the Radford University in Ghana and is yet to return to Ghana after the pageant.
