Ghanaian Photographer Calls Out Millionaire Nana Kwame Bediako
Ghanaian photographer Robert Augustus Abban is not a happy man.
Popular showbiz photographer Robert Augustus Abban who plies his trade under the name Rob Photography is not happy with Ghanaian entrepreneur Nana Kwame Bediako.
His displeasure stems from the fact that the entrepreneur blurred his logos from photos he (Rob Photography) took from the ‘Activate Beach Party’ hosted by Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy and Davido at the SandBox Beach and Resort in Labadi-Accra, Ghana and shared them on Instagram without his permission.
According to Rob Photography, the act was quite disrespectful and aimed at discrediting his work.
In a post which has since been deleted, Rob Photography expressed his displeasure saying;
“This is the main reason why I post my pictures before giving them out…I feel so disrespected…my logo was blurred… no credit self hmmmmmmmmm @iamfreedom….just mute..won’t say anything”
Although deleted, the post had already been captured by Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture & Urban Entertainment Hub – www.nydjlive.com.
A quick check on Nana Kwame Bediako’s Instagram page suggested that indeed the logos had been blurred with no credit given to the photographer as well.
The conversation about who owns the right to a photograph has since become a huge subject of concern as many celebrities around the world are getting sued for using their own images without due permission from the photographers.
In January 2020, Kim Kardashian got sued by photographer Saeed Bolden after the former shared a photo that was taken of her and Kanye West.
Other celebrities including Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lopez and even Kim Kardashian’s sister Chloe have found themselves in similar situations over the past couple of years.
