Born Silas Karikari Mensah Boateng to a family of four in the Wenchi district of the Brong Ahafo region in Ghana, West Africa, Silas began singing at the early school going age when he awed his church congregation each week with a great voice.
Growing through times and leading various choirs till date, Silas’ singing prowess was first recognized out of the church when he competed in the Glo X Factor competition in Lagos- Nigeria where he teamed up with the group Symphony.
Serving as the lead singer and also group head for the trio, his pure and unique voice attracted the group so much fans and applause anytime they were on stage since he was very outstanding. This took them to top six, very close to the finals after which they got evicted.
This opened new horizon for Silas but instead of following the path of other celebrated groups, he left to find his own creative voice by returning to his gospel roots. What has emerged is a captivating performer with a strong and distinct style that is attracting attention everywhere.
Silas has a passion for gospel music and is distinguished for his solo performances of blues, jazz, rnb, soul, classic and highlife gospel inspirational songs.
Silas has performed with international singers like Majek Fashek (Nigeria) and Toni Mansion of Jazz Tone Productions (Ghana). On both secular and gospel platforms, Silas raised standards by rapping shoulders with local artists like Joe Mettle, Oware Junior, Eshun (X Factor), Laami (Project Fame), Francis Amo, Bernice Ofei and many more.
Silas currently recorded his rendition of the traditional carol “Oh Holy Night/White Christmas” medley, which was released in December. This tune got him to perform on several platforms including The One Show on Viasat One TV station, Night of Nine lessons and Carol organized by Kapital Radio in Kumasi and many more not leaving out his church, ICGC Dominion Temple, Darkuman.
Still swinging with moments and seasonal recognized days, Silas drops a special one titled MY HAPPY VALENTINE for this valentine season.
