Fast rising artist Phrimpong goes hard on fake pastors in new music video

If there is any conscious hiplife music I have heard since the days of Obrafour, it would be none other than this new single from fast rising Kumasi based artist Phrimpong.

Born Derrick Frimpong Manso on the 23rd of May 1992 to Mr Anthony Darkwa and Miss Grace Darkwa at Kenyasi, Phrimpong as he is affectionately known in the music scene now had his basic education at Kenyasi and proceeded to Tweneboah Koduah Senior High School at Kumawu in the Ashanti Region.

Growing up, he listened to Daddy Lumba, Akyeame, Tic Tac, Obrafour etc and started reciting the verses of these artiste. He then graduated into writing his own verses even in Junior High School when he recorded his first song.

Fast forward to Senior High School, the kid everyone turned into a battle rapper facing emcees and solidifying his stand as a great rapper. Phrimpong was later introduced to a radio competition on Kumasi based Solid FM where he placed 3rd out of 84 gallant emcees and garnered a huge following for his career.

In 2010, Phrimpong participated in the Back from School Rap Show in Ashanti Region organized by Okyeame Kwame’s One Mic Entertainment where he won and had a one year record deal with the outfit.

Currently Phrimpong is working on his maiden album called “The School” which features Kontihene, Flowking Stone, Kojo_Cue, Ryan Korsah (winner of Vodafone Icons) and many others.

Check out his new video titled Religion in which he brings to bare the ordeals people go through in the hands of fake pastors.
