While Eminem stans are getting impatient for the release of the rapper’s new album, a detail about the highly-anticipated project has surfaced. Ahead of the premiere of HBO’s “The Defiant Ones“, director Allen Hughes revealed some interesting information to UPROXX. When talking about Dr. Dre‘s music career, Allen dished on the 52-year-old rapper’s involvement in Eminem’s new studio effort.
“Dre still records,” he shared. “People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music.” Considering the amount of time Allen spent with Dr. Dre on filming set, it’s safe to say that the director is a quite credible source.
Eminem has been keeping details about his ninth studio album, including its title and release date. In fact, Dr. Dre’s involvement is the only thing we know so far about the project. We last heard the Detroit rapper’s music last February when he teamed up with Big Sean on a track called “No Favors”. Meanwhile, his latest album was “MMLP2“, which was released in 2013.
Eminem has been appearing on social media a lot lately, and it can be a sign that the new album is just around the corner. 50 Cent recently posted on Instagram a video which found Em rapping a verse of “Places to Go” as a sweet birthday tribute to Fif. 2 Chainz also posted a photo of him and Em last month. He later revealed in an interview that Em “got a project coming out.”
