The highly anticipated Welcome to December Concert, an annual event hosted by DJ Carcious, has been officially cancelled this year.
Often held on the first Saturday of December, the Welcome to December Concert, a hallmark event that ushers in the festive season, coincides with the election date, prompting the decision to prioritize this important national activity on December 7, 2024 (the first Saturday of December 2024.)
Over the years, the Welcome to December Concert has been a highlight of the holiday season, drawing large crowds for its vibrant atmosphere and DJ Carcious’ signature performances. However, with elections serving as a pivotal moment for civic engagement in Ghana, the event organizers have decided to step aside to allow full focus on this critical democratic process.
In a statement, DJ Carcious shared:
“As a proud Ghanaian, I believe that supporting our nation’s democratic process is of utmost importance. The elections are a vital opportunity for all of us to shape our country’s future, and I encourage everyone to participate actively and responsibly.
While we may not come together this December as we have in previous years, this is not a goodbye. I am already planning for the concert’s grand return in 2025, and I promise it will be worth the wait.“
The previous editions of the concert have seen several celebrities either make appearances or perform at the concert.
