Ghanaian Gospel musician Diana Asamoah and her longtime manager Frimpong Anane of Frimprince music production stand accused by fellow veteran musician Uncle Fiifi aka Abepe Show for stealing a musical work by the latter titled “Anopa Hemaa”.

Uncle Fiifi who made this known on the Angel Entertainment show hosted by Charles Asare disclosed Diana Asamoah had illegally used his intellectual property and found it a bit insulting especially when her (Diana Asamoah’s) manager was a close associate and could have sought his consent.

Furthering his argument, Uncle Fiifi stated he tried an amicable solution but was turned down by the manager and Diana Asamoah who sounded rude to him on phone.

“I called Frimprince who handed over the phone to Diana. I was expecting her to tell me something better but she sounded rude and told me she was not ready to talk to me as she and her manager sought permission from the Church of Pentecost but I must say the song does not belong to the church. I wrote it myself.”

Speaking with Frimprince on the same show, the manager explained he found it a bit embarrassing to be discussing the issue since the appropriate means had been followed. Asked where her artist got the song from, Frimprince disclosed the song was from the hymn book of the Pentecost church and so permission was secured from the music committee of the Church of Pentecost headed by Apostle Abraham Lincoln.

According to the Church of Pentecost, the song was made available through a prophecy in the 1960s through one Maame Eunice Addison and has been registered since then. Uncle Fiifi on the other hand explains he wrote the song in 1985 and registered it in 1990.

In a related news, Uncle Fiifi has issued a threat to Frimprince in an interview on Kumasi based Fox FM as he asked him to “wait and see” during a hot argument. Uncle Fiifi who had earlier stated he would sue the accused and his manager asked the two to do the right thing or “wait for the consequence of their action”.

When prompted his utterance was a threat that could be harmful, he sounded unperturbed and refused to retract or explain what he meant by his statement.
