Ghanaian comedian Khemikal has described David Oscar as the best thing that happened to stand up comedy in Ghana.
In the wake of heated arguments and battle for supremacy as to who is the best thing to have happened to comedy in Ghana, comedian Khemikal has rallied support behind David Oscar describing him as the best. He also asserts that the absence of Augustine Dennis is the cause for the current state of comedy in Ghana.
Earlier, Khemikal had stated that many people would not understand David Oscar’s assertion as being the best thing to have happened to GH comedy simply because they do not know or have forgotten how he stood and fought for comedy in Ghana just when no one would pay attention.
“People will not understand but If David Oscar says hes the best thing that happened to Ghanaian Stand Up Comedy, He’s right! He did a good job to stand and fight for us. Battles we couldn’t have fought for ourselves. He made his mark and without him we wouldn’t be where we are now. Take if or leave it, hes the best thing that happened to Ghanaian Stand Up Comedy.”
Khemikal is not the only one to have rallied support for David Oscar, popular female comedian Jacinta has also given plaudits to David Oscar for the path he created for stand up comedy in Ghana.
Genesis of the war among the comedians
David Oscar in a post on Facebook days ago asked that people forgot the self imposed “Forget your kings, king – kongs, queens and self imposed monarchs …” because he was the best hing that happened to Ghanaian Stand up Comedy.
This did not sit well with Derick Kobina Bonney also known as DKB who thinks the post was a direct swipe aimed at stripping him off his hard earned title as “king of GH comedy”.
It has since then generated into exchange of words on various media platforms.
Well, the argument goes on as to who is the best thing to have happened to stand up comedy in Ghana.
