Known for his singing prowess, spotting unique talents and developing them into superstars, award-winning Ghanaian singer-songwriter and record producer Richie Mensah will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 3rd edition of the Koforidua Technical University SRC Awards scheduled for May 12, 2018 at the Eastern Premier Hotel.
Since the emergence of Richie Mensah to the Ghanaian music scene and the establishment of his Lynx Entertainment Record Label in 2006, Richie as he is affectionately known has had an amazing career as musician and CEO spotting and projecting numerous talents including ASEM, OJ Blaq, Irene Logan, Eazzy, Zigi , MzVee and the hottest duo at the moment Kidi and Kuami Eugene.
After producing songs for several African artistes, Richie released his debut album All of Me in 2008.
The album featured hit singles Frema, When I Get You and Dirty Dance.
The release of this album established Richie as one of the hottest R&B stars on the Ghanaian music scene and led to award nominations at the 2009 Ghana Music Awards for Discovery of the Year, Best Male Vocal, Hip Hop Song of the Year, Afro Pop Song of the Year and Collaboration of the Year.
He won the award for ‘Producer of the Year’ at the ceremony, his record label Lynx Entertainment won “Record Label of the Year” and Woso, a song by Okyeame Kwame, which he produced and featured on won “Hip Hop Song of the Year” and “Video of the Year”. He also won “Male Music Star of the Year” award at the 2009 Joy FM’s Nite with the Stars.
Richie has since then worked with several superstars from and outside Ghana and mentored others.
He has served as a judge on several music contest shows including MTN Hitmaker where he has mentored countless number of musicians.
Last year, the awards ceremony awarded Legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Chief Abirekyire Kofi Sammy for his immeasurable contribution to the music industry.
Koforidua Polytechnic University SRC Awards will see performances from chart dominating music artists from Lynx Entertainment including MzVee, Confusion hit maker Kuami Eugene and Odo hit maker Kidi.
