It seems the challenges in securing a venue for the intended #dumsormuststop will not stop soon as 12 hours after organizers of the upcoming vigil announced On-The-Run as the new venue for the event, managers of the station have said no.
Just like the press release issued by the authorities of University of Ghana, management of Total Ghana, owners of On-The-Run, say they have not been contacted by organizers of the vigil hence the venue cannot be used for the vigil.
This is the second venue in the past 24 hours that has turned down the request by Yvonne Nelson, Sarkodie, DKB and other celebrities to hold a vigil to protest the current power crisis.
According to a letter signed by Olivier Van Parys, Managing Director of Total Petroleum Ghana Limited, they have not been contacted.
“Please note that our Company, Total petroleum Ghana Limited, which is the owner of the said location, has not been contacted for any such programme and would therefore request the general public to disregard the announcements running on various media ……”
Participants were to converge at “ON- THE- RUN” also known as Bonjour on the Legon Presec road towards the old main gate of the University of Ghana at exactly 4pm.
Organizers are yet to announce a new venue.
Celebrities expected to participate in the Dumsormuststop vigil include Sarkodie, D-Black, Efya, Kwaw Kese, DKB and many others.
