Past students (Akunni Global) of Kumasi Academy Senior High School (KUMACA) have donated 1,000 mono desks and 60 bunk beds to the school.
The gesture was in response to a recent request by the school authorities for the association to help ease the stress on available desks in the school.
Speaking at the handling-over ceremony, President of Akunini Global, Harry Boakye said;
“I stand before you with immense gratitude and a sense of fulfilment as we gather together for the presentation and handling over of 1,000 mono desks and 60 3 in 1 bunk beds”.
He further stated that the gesture was not a mere presentation of furniture but that “which provides a foundation for hope, a sail for growth, and a tangible investment in the future of the students.”
Although the group had planned on the donation of 1000 mono desks, the acquisition of the bunk beds, according to him was in response to a distress call by the headmaster informing the group of the lack of beds for newly enrolled females in the school.
The 60 beds according to him can accommodate 150 ladies.
Harry Boakye extended his deepest appreciation to all who contributed towards the realization and encouraged the old students to continue working together to build their alma mater.
The President added that ‘this noble initiative not only symbolizes their commitment to education but underscores the transformative power of collaboration and support for their alma mater’.
The headmaster of the School, Samuel Kwame Gato, expressed his joy and excitement for these great interventions. He described the donation as unprecedented and stated that Akunini Global has proven to be critical and relevant stakeholders who can simply be described as indisputable and dependable happenings in the school’s development agenda.
On behalf of the Board of Governors of the Institution and the entire KUMACA community, the headmaster expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation to Akunni Global for their wonderful donations.
