Senegalese born music Superstar and CEO of Konvict Music, Akon has reacted to media reports on his latest bubble performance in DR. Congo.
The artist who moved into the crowd with a bubble during his performance has been condemned by many as a means of avoiding direct contact and isolating himself from the people who could be prone to the deadly disease that has plagued certain parts of Africa, Ebola.
Reacting to the various media reports, Akon took to his twitter handle and explained this was not the first time he had performed using the bubble and found it sad the media would spin everything so negatively.
“It’s sad how the media spin everything so negatively. I would never intentionally isolate myself from my African people.” – he tweeted
He further stated, This bubble has been apart of my show for years. Way before Ebola existed. Let’s try n stop Ebola before it spreads.

Early this year, Akon performed in a similar manner during a concert in Ghana even before news of Ebola was heard.
