Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has broken his silence over allegations that suggest he turned down a proposal to take up a role in Lilwin’s latest production, A Country Called Ghana.
The actor who had been accused of turning down the role which Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah eventually played in an interview with Dave Hammer on Hello FM revealed the parties could not reach an agreement hence not taking up the role.
Addressing the issue, Van Vicker revealed the producer needed him for a full month which was quite impossible for him since he was in school. As a result, he proposed 10 days which did not sit well with the producer.
“The director (Frank Fiifi Gharbin) called and needed me to play a role in the movie (the role Ramsey Nouah played) so I asked when we were shooting, the duration etc (because I was in school) and he promised to get back to me,” he said.
Narrating the events that unfolded, the actor revealed the director subsequently called back with the information including the duration of the shoot which required him to be around for a full month.
“He got back to me and said the producer needed me for a month. I was shocked and wondered what exactly we’d be shooting in a month. I proposed 10 days. However, my counter-proposal did not sit well with them and that was it,” he said.
Van Vicker further explained how his colleague from Nigeria, Ramsey Nuoah, who took the role spent only 10 days for the same work.
“Can you believe Ramsey also did 10 days? He also did 10 days on the job,” he queried.
