Sonnie Badu Hits Back At Bulldog, Critics: “Ignore Their Negatively Inflicted Shallow Minds..”

Gospel musician Sonnie Badu has hit back at critics who believe his call for the Ghanaian media, entertainers and the general public to stop criticizing and insulting sensational dancehall diva, Ebony, for her style of dressing is  unwarranted.

In a sublime shot, the musician took to Instagram where he described people with such mindset and opinions as “negatively inflicted shallow minds”.

He posted;

“Sometimes you just have to ignore their negatively inflicted shallow minds and the keep going. Eagles don’t play with chickens, they will not understand you … Call it arrogance, I call it confidence #DrBadu”

This comes after the Baba hit maker had in an interview stated that, “All Ebony needs is love, not insults because she is indeed a great talent, although she is known for half-naked dressing, she didn’t dress that way when she launched her album recently and that is why there is the need to know why she sometimes dress that way before you criticize her”

His comment however did not sit well with former manager of Bandana Lawrence Hanson aka Bulldog, who expressed disappointment in Sonnie Badu’s. He believes that Sonnie Badu’s assessment is nothing but a double standard.

According to him, the ‘Baba’ hit maker had no right to advice against criticism of Ebony after he [Sonnie Badu] subjected ‘One Corner’ hit maker, Patapaa to one.

“I’m disappointed. I share one of the things he said that we shouldn’t insult Ebony. I have criticized that she could get married and should watch how she dresses but for somebody like Sonnie Badu to say we are hypocrites for criticizing constructively…

“This is a gentleman who did a live video and chastised Patapaa’s song and few weeks down the line, you are here encouraging nakedness? Everybody that came at [criticized] Patapaa mixed the two. Nobody took Patapaa out of the equation. Sonnie Badu condemned Patapaa and is now advising us not to criticize Ebony? I think he should come again,” he said on Daybreak Hitz.

In the same light, artiste manager and Chief Executive Officer of Media Excel, Ernest Kwesi Ennin slammed Sonnie Badu for jumping into the defense of Ebony Reigns.

Kwesi Ennin described Sonnie Badu’s posture as “unfortunate” as he argued that he least expected a man of his caliber to defend immorality.

“If Ebony was his sister and happens to go on stage with this kind of dress, how would he talk to the sister? Ebony is on my Kwahu show slated for 26th December so you could see that nobody hates Ebony. I won’t put her on my bill if I hated her. But we are very much concerned because morality is very important in our showbiz. We are not hypocrites by talking about it. Talking about it has shaped the girl. I watched her dressing when she was launching her concert and you could see some amount of decorum had been injected in the lady.

“What baffles me is that he is a man of God. He is supposed to at least, add some amount of words into shaping the girl instead of trying to paint all of us as satans. I find it very unfortunate. We should be able to chastise anybody who would want to go naked in the name of showbiz. If Sonnie Badu thinks we are hypocrites, I’d prefer to be a hypocrite in this direction than allow Ebony go wayward,” the Media Excel boss noted.

Ebony has been at the centre of discussion over her appearance and recent wardrobe malfunction.
