Following the recent arrest of a Ghanaian lady with a large quantity of cocaine at the Heathrow airport in the United Kingdom, the president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has dissolved the governing body of the Narcotics Control Board.
The Narcotics Board which had earlier claimed glory in collaborating with UK authorities in arresting the said lady was exposed when the UK authorities made it known the claim was a lie.
In a statement issued by the Flagstaff House today November 22 2014, the board has been dissolved by the President and according to the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani, will follow in due course.

In other news, the President has set up a new ministry of Power to curtail the current power challenges the country has been hit with.

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Dr. Kwabena Donkor, MP for Pru East and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy, as Minister for a newly created Ministry of Power.
The establishment of the Ministry forms part of a restructuring of the power sector to ensure more stability and security of power.
A statement from the Office of the President and signed by the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani, said the President expects the new Ministry to bring about a sharper focus on the generation, supply and efficiency of power to match the growth the economy is experiencing.
When approved by parliament, the new Minister will be expected to mobilise all human and material resources available to resolve the current challenges facing the power sector.
