Several weeks after his absence from Kumasi based Light Fm, popular reggae presenter Bontai Talawa has finally in an exclusive interview with www.nydjlive.com debunked rumours of being sacked from the station. Earlier reports indicated that the presenter had been fired by the CEO of Unity Groups of company on claims that the presenter was becoming bigger than the media outfit.
Speaking on his absence from the radio network, Bontai Talawa disclosed most of the programmes of the station had to be repackaged after their thanksgiving event and therefore the reason for being off air.
“I’m actually surprised to read online and hear that I was sacked from the radio station when I was not the only one who was absent. The management decided to roll out new sets of programmes and hence my absence. Several programmes including sports, talk shows, Adadamu were all scraped off until today when programmes resume fully.”
The award winning presenter assured his fans of his best output as he returns to radio and advised them not to pay heed to the rumours circulating”.
Although our sources indicate a not too cool relationship between the presenter and his CEO, www.nydjlive.com can confidently confirm that as at the time we contacted Bontai Talawa around 2:30pm, the presenter was on air presenting his reggae programme.
