Really?? Gyedu Blay Ambolley Advises Musicians to Come Clean With Their Lyrics

Legendary rap artist Gyedu Blay Ambolley has thrown a word of advice to the current crop of young Ghanaian musicians to research well and come clean with their lyrics to their music lately as most of them are not well presented or either dwells only on girls and women. Gyedu Blay Ambolley

Ambolley who is well known in one way or the other for some of his adult content music after been queried if he had the moral right to advice other musicians on their lyrics explained although he had several songs touching on love and very sensitive, such songs were made for the matured minds and made it difficult for any young mind listening to understand.

My generation learnt our mode of communication well and employed a lot of figures of speech  that would easily convey our message to our target audience  but the younger folks now just say anything and they don’t care perhaps because they have no responsibilities.

Touching on the possible reasons for the younger musicians choice of singing all about girls and women, the Guinness Book of Records contender for the initiator of rap music stated although he finds it weird, he also found it normal as he believed the younger folks had no responsibilities than an interest in women.

Ambolley has over seventeen albums to his credit and has received numerous musical awards. In October of 2003, Ambolley was inducted into the music hall of fame at the Charles R.Drew University in Los Angeles by the Governor and Mayor of California was also recognized for his commitment to his musical craft with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” by Jazz at Drew from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, Los Angeles, CA.

Additionally he received a Congressional,Gubernatorial Certificate of Special Recognition by Cogresswoman Juanita Millinder McDonald. Also L.A.Weekly nominated Ambolley for “Best World Beat Recombinant Artists”-2003.
