The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas Ejezie has confirmed the death of actor Obumneme Odonwodo popularly known as Junior Pope.
In a post shared on Instagram, the President revealed their joy was short-lived as the actor (Junior Pope) could not survive despite an attempt by two notable hospitals to revive him after retrieving his body.
Earlier, news of the death of the actor (Junior Pope) took the Nollywood world by surprise. However, the AGN denied the reports claiming the actor was alive.
The actor and three colleagues were said to be returning from a movie location in a boat when they fell into Anam River in Anambra State.
Hours before the incident, the actor shared a video of himself taken on Monday, April 9, 2023, in a boat and praying frantically to arrive at his destination safely.
The actor is survived by his wife and three children.
