200 Participants Graduate From Slamm Foundation And ISC2’s Free Cybersecurity Training In Kumasi
Slamm Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Slamm Technologies, an Information Technology (IT) firm, together with ISC2, the world’s leading member association for cybersecurity professionals has held a graduation ceremony for 200 people in Kumasi.
The ceremony which took place on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the KNUST School of Business saw graduates from different backgrounds awarded certificates for the successful completion of intensive 4-day training in cybersecurity under the theme, “Building a secured digital future.”
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, an elated Francisca Boateng, Executive Director of Slamm Foundation who doubles as the Director for Operations at Slamm Technologies revealed the motivation for the free training.
According to her, the training formed part of the company’s 1 million campaign initiative aimed at significantly improving information, communications and technology (ICT) and cybersecurity literacy in Ghana. It was also a part of this year’s cybersecurity awareness month.
“Our mission is to improve global digital literacy, teach computer skills, provide digital tools and invest in digital empowerment. It is our vision to make digital literacy accessible, affordable and comprehensible to all. With this vision in mind, we have been holding free cybersecurity programs since 2017 at the Accra Digital Centre and now in Kumasi.”
The Special Guest of Honour, Dr. Bruce Lamptey, Deputy Librarian, College of Science, KNUST, expressed his appreciation to the team for choosing Kumasi and admonished the graduates to impact the world positively with the acquired knowledge.
Also present at the ceremony were Dwan Jones (Director of D.E.I – ICS2, Inc) USA, and Samuel Boateng, CEO of Slamm Technologies.
The participants promised to help spread the good news and make Ghana’s digital space a safe one.
